Dear Caleb,
Happy birthday! It's crazy to think that you were born three years ago. So much has happened in that amount of time. I still think of you often, but it doesn't hurt quite as much as it used to. I wanted to do something special for you this year, so I made this blog. I guess it's a little bit for me, too, and hopefully it will be able to help other people as well. I guess you could call it the rough draft. I wanted to make it better, to make it perfect, but I don't know if that will ever happen and maybe your story and my thoughts can help someone now. So here it is. Hope you like it.

The Purpose
This blog is intended for three categories of people:
1) For us. We want to remember our son, to tell his story, to honor him.
2) For others struggling with the loss of a child. We hope that by telling our story and expressing our feelings, we can help others.
3) Families and friends--our own as well as those of others who have suffered a loss. It's hard to stand by and watch a family member or friend struggle through a hard time. We want to provide information on what could be helpful to do/say and what may not be helpful. We also want to recognize that it is not only the parents who grieve.
